| Karim Rashid visits the TAU-Porcelanatto stand to present the NO-Stalgia collection at Cersaie The internationally renowned designer promotes the world of colours and shapes in order to make a clean break with all established concepts and bring a fresh, new language to the field of cutting edge interior design and contracting.
The visit of the designer Karim Rashid, one of the best-known names in international design meant that the eyes of all the professionals who had come to the Cersaie show were on the TAU-Porcelanatto stand today. Rashid was at the Italian event promoting the NO-Stalgia collection, in which he gives free rein to his whole world of colour, graphics and shapes, in a combination which is fresh, dynamic, daring and, above all, very cutting edge.
During his visit to the TAU-Porcelanatto stand Karim Rashid was accompanied by the heads of the company, Salvador Duart and Carlos Camahort. NO-Stalgia materials cover the counter in the bar as well as one of the walls of the company’s space at the show, and both of these areas have already caught the attention of professionals, because this is a clean, personal break with other products which are currently generally available in the sector.
Everything that Karim Rashid does is all about freedom, pure colour, shapes and vibrancy, but it is also about being provocative and unconventional. No two of his ideas are the same and yet somehow you can always spot his style a mile off. The multifaceted designer and artist once again put the case for his vision of a world which is diametrically opposed to the uniform, grey world found in current design. Not for nothing does he consider colour to be a fundamental value which can make all the difference, catering to users’ needs, and now allowing them to put across their own personalities. The NO-Stalgia collection opens up a whole host of possibilities in the world of interior design, both in private homes and in contracting projects, an area which is increasingly drawing on design and in which this product manages to offer a functional, cutting edge design, with a totally personal touch. In this respect, Karim Rashid advocates the strategy of fighting to create products with real added value. This is an increasingly important aspect as it is the only way of competing with products from new countries which are entering the international markets. At the end of the day it is a matter of quality, design and high performance against standardised, shared ideas, so these are true “designer” products in the purest and most innovative sense of the word.
Karim Rashid’s world is a technological, visual and three-dimensional one in which he uses digital, geometric finishes, an effect which sums up the relationship between mankind and the new communication technologies. Karim Rashid has worked with TAU-Porcelanatto to bring the four collections which make up NO-Stalgia to Cersaie. This is his letter of introduction to the world of ceramics, designed in 60x60 format and - in turn – available in four colours, with the single aim of making an impact: Sensory (Grey, Nude, Red, Blue), Poetic (Blue, Nude, Pink, Carbon), Emotion (Fire-Orange, Grey, Lime, Carbon) and Desire (Nude, Carbon, Grey, Yellow). Expression, renovation and personalisation for cutting edge spaces where ceramic materials are the ideal way of achieving the desired result.
