1. Wastewater treatment. The treated water is reused in the production process. The consumption of water has been minimized and a system to transport the spare water and the dissolved sludge from the purifying plant to the spray dryer has been developed. They are added to the stock which means no dumpling into the drains.

2. Solid waste management. Solid waste is classified according to its type and it is treated as the legal regulations in force stipulate; sieves waste, dust from bag filters, broken raw bodies (gazed and non-gazed) are stored in the appropriate and they are transferred to the spray dryer to be reused during the preparation of stocks. Fired tiles, either broken or rejected during selection, ceramic rolls and refractory materials are considered inert waste and therefore are put in authorised dumping sites. Waste or containers contaminated by contact with toxic or dangerous material, that is result of the ceramic process itself or machinery maintenance works and appear on the list of dangerous waste approved by the R.D. 952/1.997 must be transferred to an Authorised Manager.

3. Atmospheric Emissions. Corrective elements have been installed at the points of gas and smoke emissions to the atmosphere. The corrective elements are: Dry filters (bag filters) and Humid filters (cyclone separators)

4. Noise Pollution. The noise produced in the industry premises is limited at the emission points by using some elements made of absorbent material that reduces the decibels. In order to define Tau’s environmental strategy we must emphasize the awareness that favours that the corrective and preventive actions are taken in a way that not only meets the law requirements but also reduces the current and potential risk of failure.
